10-Minute Fitness was developed by Dave Hubbard, and is based on the actual time athletes play football during a 60-minute game. You can discover this ridiculous fact for yourself by using a stopwatch next time you watch a football game. Start it whenever the ball is snapped, and stop it whenever the whistle blows. At the end of that 60-minute game you will (on average) have around 10-minutes. WOW! 


In most sports, athletes achieve their high level of fitness through short bursts of movement, not 20+ minutes of steady-state exercise on a treadmill, etc.
